Yesterday 23rd March 2016 was Bye Election day on Island.A total of 318 votes was casted to decide who should be the new elected member to serve on the Legeslative Council.The reason for the Bye Election was to fill the vacant seat that was previously held by Councillor Les Baldwin.There were two nominees nominated  as candidates for the Bye Election and they were Per Mikkael Olsson of Jamestown and Lionel George Willams of Half Tree Hollow.Counting of the votes began just before 20.30 and the results were delivered soon after by the returning Officer as follows.Per Mikkael Olsson – 214 VotesLionel George Willams – 104 VotesPer Mikkael Olsson was announced as the winner and will serve as a member of the legislative council.Feel free to congratulate Per Mikkael Olsson/Mike on his achievement.More info to follow…
